Terms of Service

Effective June 25, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Togar mobile application (“Togar,” “the app”). By installing or using Togar, you agree to these terms.

1. What Togar Is (and Isn't)

Togar helps you track spending, scan receipts, organize tax documents, and put it all together for your CPA.

Togar is not a tax preparer, financial advisor, or accounting service. The app does not file taxes, calculate tax liability, or provide financial advice. The categories, summaries, and exports Togar produces are organizational tools — not tax or legal guidance. Always consult a qualified professional for tax and financial decisions.

2. Device Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device. All data is stored locally — if someone gains access to your device, they may be able to access the app.

3. Acceptable Use

Togar is licensed for personal use. You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app.

4. Subscriptions & Pricing

  • Free tier — unlimited manual entry and CSV import. No credit card required.
  • Subscription — $3.99/month or $39.99/year. Includes read-only bank sync via Plaid.
  • AI credits — purchased as-you-go starting at $1. Cost per scan is shown before each use. Credits do not expire.

Subscriptions are billed through the Google Play Store and are subject to Google's billing terms. You may cancel anytime from your Play Store subscription settings. Refunds are handled per Google Play's refund policy.

5. Data Ownership

Your data belongs to you. Receipts, transactions, categories, and exports are stored on your device and in your own Google Drive. You can delete individual records in the app or uninstall to remove all local data. If you stop using Togar, your data remains in your Google Drive until you choose to remove it.

6. Third-Party Services

Togar integrates with Plaid (bank sync), Google Drive (backup), and OpenAI (receipt parsing). Your use of these services is also governed by their respective terms. The developer is not responsible for third-party service outages or policy changes.

7. Limitation of Liability

Togar is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for:

  • Missed deductions, incorrect categorizations, or tax filing errors resulting from reliance on Togar's output
  • Data loss due to device failure, Google Drive issues, or third-party service disruptions
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app

Total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for Togar in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

You may stop using Togar at any time by uninstalling the app and canceling your subscription. Your local data is removed when you uninstall. Data in your Google Drive remains until you choose to remove it.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware.

10. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
